All systems go

Blog Editor's Note: Endeavor successfully launched tonight under a November moon from NASA's Kennedy Space Center. We wish Sandra and the six other crew members a good weekend, and we look forward to hearing from Sandra next week.

Sandra,

What did you major in while you attended college? And which university or college did you attend?

Noria - Sandra holds two degrees from Missouri S&T: a bachelor of science in physics (1986) and a master of science in electrical engineering (1990). She also holds a Ph.D. from Georgia Tech. More information about Sandra is available in the "bio" section of this site (spacebook.mst.edu/bio.html).

Hi Sandra- In the summer of 1999, our family visited the NASA Space Center in Florida. My kids (one of whom is now a MS&T student) had a great time. We all bought shirts. A short while later, we were visiting Belleville and went shopping with my grandmother at Wal-Mart. A very nice lady saw my NASA shirt and stopped me-- "My daughter is an astronaut!" -- it was your mother. She was so excited to tell us about your work with NASA. I am happy to see that your mission is underway and wish you a successful time is space!

Hi Sandra,

Please compare the state of your excitement on this flight to your previous time in space.

Thank you and God's blessings.

Neil
